How to listen to Spotify in 432 Hz on Mac.

Short answer

Spotify has no 432 Hz setting, and its equalizer cannot change the pitch. To hear Spotify in 432 Hz on a Mac, the audio has to be retuned after Spotify plays it. Quantic Heartz does that for the whole Mac: it lowers the pitch by 31.77 cents in real time, from A=440 Hz to A=432 Hz, without changing the tempo.

The Equalizer

Why the Spotify equalizer cannot do it.

An equalizer makes some frequency bands louder or quieter. The notes themselves stay where they are, so a song tuned to A=440 Hz still plays at 440 Hz.

Retuning to 432 Hz means moving every note down by the same small step: 31.77 cents, a factor of 432/440 ≈ 0.982. That is a pitch shift, and Spotify does not offer one.

Your Options

Three ways to 432 Hz. One works with Spotify.

Convert files

Not for Spotify

Audio converters retune MP3 or WAV files you own. Spotify streams its songs and encrypts offline downloads for the Spotify app, so there is no file to convert.

Browser extension

Web player only

Works for the Spotify web player in that one browser tab, not for the Spotify desktop app.

Retune the whole Mac

Desktop app + web player

An app in the Mac’s audio path retunes whatever plays: the Spotify desktop app, the web player, and also Apple Music, YouTube and podcasts. This is what Quantic Heartz does.

What Changes

Only the pitch moves. The tempo stays.

Songs do not play slower or longer. It works with Spotify Free and Premium, because Quantic Heartz retunes the sound after Spotify has played it, and you do not change any setting in Spotify.

Live calls (FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp, Meet) are not retuned: macOS sends call audio straight to the hardware for echo cancellation, and no app can change that.

About 432 Hz itself: many people find it warmer and more natural. The research so far is small and mixed, so we make no health claims. Switch it on and off and decide for yourself.
