How to listen to Apple Music in 432 Hz on Mac.

Short answer

Apple Music has no 432 Hz setting, and the equalizer in the Music app cannot change the pitch. Songs from the Apple Music catalog are protected, so they cannot be converted either. To hear Apple Music in 432 Hz on a Mac, the sound has to be retuned while it plays. Quantic Heartz does that for the whole Mac: it lowers the pitch by 31.77 cents in real time, from A=440 Hz to A=432 Hz, without changing the tempo.

The Music App

Why the equalizer and Sound Enhancer cannot do it.

The equalizer in the Music app makes frequency bands louder or quieter. Sound Enhancer widens the sound. Neither moves the notes, so a song tuned to A=440 Hz still plays at 440 Hz.

Retuning to 432 Hz means moving every note down by the same small step: 31.77 cents, a factor of 432/440 ≈ 0.982. That is a pitch shift, and the Music app does not offer one.

Your Options

Three ways to 432 Hz. One works with Apple Music.

Convert files

Only for your own files

Audio editors can retune MP3, WAV or AIFF files you own. Songs you stream or download from the Apple Music catalog are protected, so they cannot be converted.

Search for 432 Hz uploads

Limited choice

Some playlists contain songs that were re-uploaded in 432 Hz. You only get the songs someone else has retuned, not your own library.

Retune the whole Mac

Your whole library

An app in the Mac’s audio path retunes whatever plays: the Music app, and also Spotify, YouTube and podcasts. This is what Quantic Heartz does.

What Changes

Only the pitch moves. The tempo stays.

Songs do not play slower or longer, and nothing in your library is changed. Quantic Heartz retunes the sound after the Music app has played it, so you do not change any setting in Apple Music.

Live calls (FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp, Meet) are not retuned: macOS sends call audio straight to the hardware for echo cancellation, and no app can change that.

About 432 Hz itself: many people find it warmer and more natural. The research so far is small and mixed, so we make no health claims. Switch it on and off and decide for yourself.
